Eastside Newcomers of Cincinnati: Empowering Communities

This is a list of our standing, monthly and weekly, activities!   

Each event is listed by the day of the week and time.

• Walking Group - 9:00 am - every Monday
  Juilfs Park
  Let's go for a walk!  We meet every Monday morning near the center of the parking area.  Walkers of all speed and experience are welcome! 

• Golf 1 - 9:30 am - every Monday
  California Golf Course
  We play 9 holes of golf, followed by lunch at a different restaurant each week.  We play each week from May through August except for Memorial Day and July 4th. 

• Golf 2 - 10:00 am - every Monday
  Hickory Woods Golf Course
  We begin at 10am every Monday at Hickory Woods Golf Course and play 9 holes followed by lunch at a different restaurant each week.  Play runs from May through August.  We do not play on Memorial Day and Labor Day.

• Bunco Evening - 7:00 pm - 1st Monday
  Hosted at members' homes
  This is a great evening of fun hosted at a member's house!  Make sure to sign up early as there is a limited number of players. However, subs are always needed!  The cost is $3 per person which is collected for prizes. 

• Knitting:  1:00 - 3:00 pm - 2nd Monday
  Servatti's
  Help is available to ladies who need it. Remember to bring your own needles and yarn.  Ladies working on other needle art are also welcome to join us.

• Coffee Group - 9:45 am - Mondays and Fridays
  Servatti's
  What better way to catch up with friends and make new acquaintances than over a cup of coffee?!  Join us for coffee and conversations on Mondays and Fridays. Members pay for their own beverage/food and will be notified of any location changes during warm weather.

• Bowling - 10:00 am - 1st Tuesday
  Cherry Grove Lanes
  Gutter Gals is a "just for fun" group and welcomes all levels of bowlers. 
• Movies Group - varies - 3rd Tuesday
  At a nearby theatre
  Romantic Comedy? Mystery? Thriller?  Are you a movie lover?  Then this group is perfect for you! We love to catch the latest movies at a nearby theater.  We meet in the lobby of the theater about 10 minutes before movie time. After the movie, attendees are invited to a nearby place to discuss the movie when possible. Movies are selected the prior weekend and information is sent to those who sign up.  
• Rummikub - 10:00am - 4th Tuesday
  Servatti's
  Rummikub is a fun, tile game played with 3 to 4 people.  (similar to the card game Rum with sets and runs but with tiles and more playing options!) New players are always welcome!  

• Mexican Train - 10:00am - 1st Wednesday
  O'Bannon Creek Golf Club or TBD
  It's a fun Domino game that is easy to learn!  After the game, we stay for lunch. (We collect $3 for prizes)  

• Bunco Daytime - 10:00am - 3rd Wednesday
  Hosted at a members' homes or at Hickory Woods Golf Course
  Play until 12:00 noon; $3 per person is collected for prizes. This is a very easy game to play, just a matter of throwing dice and coming up with the right numbers. 

• Bridge Group Daytime - 11:00am - 1st Thursday
  Olive Garden Beechmont
  Bridge, salad, and breadsticks!!  Sounds good to me!!  This group requires knowledge of the basic principles of Bridge to parti-cipate. Each member pays for their own lunch and we collect $2.00 per person for prizes.  The rotating co-chairwomen calls each member monthly for an accurate count of number of tables and lunches needed.
   
• Hand and Foot (Canasta version) - 10:00am - 2nd Thursday
  Miami Township Civic Center
  This is a fun card game, relatively easy to learn and new players are always welcome. 

• Mah Jongg - 10:00am - 3rd Thursday
  Servatti's
  We are a learning group and welcome both beginning and experienced players to enjoy this fun and challenging game. The chairperson will assist you in obtaining the necessary tile pattern reference card.

• Book Club - 10:00am - 4th Thursday
  Members Home
  Calling all bookworms!   We read and discuss one book per month with one member volunteering as the discussion leader. The group selects books in a variety of genres for the entire reading season at the June meeting.   We meet each week except November and December due to the holidays.

  Woodland Mound Park
  Walkers gather at the Breezy Point parking lot. We welcome walkers of every speed.   Note: Hamilton County Motor Vehicle Permit is required for parking; annual permit ($10-16), good for all 16 parks, may be purchased at the park entrance.
   
• Euchre - 10:00am - 4th Friday
  Hosted at members' homes
  We play for fun and are willing to teach anyone how to play.  Hostesses as well as any holiday date changes will be noted in the newsletter.

• Dinner With Dates, 2nd Saturday; Location varies
  We love to try new restaurants with our Newcomers community! Each month, we dine out at a different restaurant and enjoy spending time together.   

• Euchre Couple's Double Deck - 6:30pm - 3rd Saturday (flexible)
  Hosted at members' homes; participants bring an appetizer to share and BYOB if desired
  This version of Euchre is played with two euchre decks and involves a bit more opportunity to strategize than a single deck. It is easy to learn and a lot of fun!  While the date is flexible based on the availability of a willing host, the group usually meets on the third Saturday of the month.
  Note: The game requires a partner; spouse or ENC member. Interested singles players are encouraged to find a partner or seek suggestions ​from the chair. Since this group is not always on the Newsletter calendar, please sign up with the activity chair to receive e-mailed updates.
   
• JULIETS: Ladies Dining Out - 4th Saturday; Location Varies
  "Just Us Ladies Intentionally Eating Together Socially"
  A different restaurant every month
  Enjoy a Saturday evening out with other ladies from the Club for some fine dining and enjoyable socializing.
  Locations and exact times to be scheduled monthly based on group ideas.
